Construction continues for improvements to Scottsdale Road from Jomax Road to Dixileta Drive. Planned improvements will convert this section of Scottsdale Road to a complete street to include landscaped medians, bike lanes, sidewalks and trails to improve safety, capacity and accessibility for motor vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians. The project includes installation of a signalized crossing at Pinnacle Vista Drive, and drainage improvements.
- Scottsdale Road traffic is currently shifted to the east side of Scottsdale Road, one lane in each direction, from Dixileta Drive to Jomax Road, for crews to conduct work on the west side of Scottsdale Road and to rebuild the west side of the Scottsdale Road/Dynamite Boulevard intersection.
- Crews are currently working on the west side of Scottsdale Road, from Jomax to Dixileta, to install median curb and gutter and pour exposed aggregate in the median islands, with this work taking place into late May.
- Dynamite Boulevard is currently CLOSED on the west side of Scottsdale Road through late July for crews to install waterline, storm drain and rebuild the west half of the intersection. Detour signage is in place to direct travelers around the closure.
- Pipeline crews are nearing completion on the west side of the Scottsdale Road and Dynamite Boulevard intersection, and will be conducting tie-over’s during night hours Wednesday and Thursday nights, May 6 – 7.
- Scheduled to take place during early morning hours on Monday, May 11, the traffic signal at the Scottsdale/Dynamite intersection will be removed and a temporary traffic signal placed to accommodate upcoming work and also the installation of the new signal at the intersection.
- Scheduled to begin the week of May 11, structures crews will begin their work to construct concrete headwalls and box culverts at the Scottsdale/Dynamite intersection, and in late May, grading activities will take place at the Scottsdale/Dynamite intersection to prepare for installation of concrete curb and gutter, catch basins, and sidewalk sometime in June.
- Landscape crews will begin work the week of May 11 to install trees in median islands and following that, install decomposed granite in various locations along the project area.
Please remember that Scottsdale Road is an active construction area and refrain from pedestrian or cycling activity in the work zone. And, although traffic is now on newly paved asphalt, the speed limit remains at 30 mph through the construction zone. Traffic control is in place for your safety and the safety of construction crews. Please use an alternate route if one is available in order to help minimize traffic back-ups on Scottsdale Road.
Based on temperatures and the remote location from the concrete materials supplier, concrete pours may take place in the early morning hours, weekdays, as needed, to provide the best quality end product. Work primarily takes place during daytime hours, weekdays; however, it may be necessary, at times, to conduct work during night hours or weekend days.
