Visionary, Thoughtful Leadership vs. Destructive, Retaliatory Politics
During the recent Carefree/Cave Creek Chamber of Commerce Candidates Forum, residents were presented with two fundamentally different visions for the future of Carefree.
On one side stand experienced, visionary leaders who understand the unique character of our town and the careful stewardship required to preserve and strengthen it for future generations. These thoughtful leaders are John Crane for Mayor, and Sheila Amoroso, Les Hardie, and write-in candidate Sharon Smith for Town Council.
Their leadership is grounded in experience, collaboration, sound planning, and a deep respect for the values that have made Carefree one of Arizona’s most desirable communities. They recognize that preserving Carefree’s quality of life requires not only protecting what we cherish today, but responsibly preparing for tomorrow.
A clear example is the protection of Carefree’s long-term water resources during the historic generational drought affecting the Desert Southwest. Because of careful planning and leadership, Carefree residents continue to benefit from a strong and reliable water supply, even as neighboring communities, including Cave Creek, face increasing uncertainty and difficult water restrictions.
Rather than acknowledging these achievements, revisionist candidates have attempted to create misleading narratives surrounding the publicly vetted and approved infrastructure bond, which helped to secure and modernize Carefree’s water system. In reality, infrastructure bonds are a standard and responsible financial tool used throughout Arizona and across the country to fund essential public investments such as water reliability, streets, and public safety. In Carefree’s case, these investments help ensure safe, dependable, high-quality water resources for every resident, both now and into the future.
The choice before voters is ultimately a choice between responsible leadership and reckless disruption.
Carefree Unity proudly supports and endorses the visionary, thoughtful leadership of John Crane, Sheila Amoroso, Les Hardie, and Sharon Smith. These candidates have demonstrated the judgment, experience, and long-term commitment necessary to preserve the qualities that brought us all to Carefree in the first place.
We encourage residents to support these proven leaders in the upcoming election and help ensure that Carefree continues along its successful historic path; investing responsibly in streets, water infrastructure, public safety, and the preservation of our low-density residential neighborhoods, while maintaining a disciplined and balanced municipal budget.
Because of this thoughtful vision and steady leadership, Carefree’s financial position has never been stronger, and property values continue to reflect the enduring desirability and stability of our community.
