Dixileta Drive is CLOSED on the west side of Scottsdale Road
Construction continues for improvements to Scottsdale Road from Jomax Road to Dixileta Drive. Planned improvements will convert this section of Scottsdale Road to a complete street to include landscaped medians, bike lanes, sidewalks and trails to improve safety, capacity and accessibility for motor vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians. The project includes installation of a signalized crossing at Pinnacle Vista Drive, and drainage improvements.
- Scottsdale Road traffic is currently shifted to the east side of Scottsdale Road, one lane in each direction, with left turns restricted from just north of Mark Lane to just south of Dixileta Drive, and also from Jomax Road to Oberlin Way. There is currently no access to Dale Lane, Peak View Road, Morning Vista Lane, Redbird, and Pinnacle Vista on the west side of Scottsdale Road with concrete barrier in place in the interest of safety as asphalt has been removed from the west side of Scottsdale Road in these areas for storm drain installation and road reconstruction.
- Crews continue work on the west side of Scottsdale Road, behind the concrete barrier, to complete improvements on the west side of Scottsdale Road.
- Scheduled to begin Monday, July 28 through approximately August 22, Dixileta Drive will be CLOSED on the west side of Scottsdale Road for crews to conduct work in this area. Scottsdale Road will remain open for travel with no access to/from Dixileta Drive during this time. Detour signage will be in place to direct travelers around the closure area.
- Crews continue work on the west side of Scottsdale Road, from Dynamite to Dixileta to construct concrete curb and gutter, valley gutters, catch basins, and sidewalk ramps. Landscape crews continue installation of landscape irrigation and replanting of salvaged trees to the west side of Scottsdale Road. In addition, handrail installation begins next week along culvert crossing headwall locations. Paving of the base course (bottom layer) of asphalt on the west side of Scottsdale Road, from approximately Dixileta to Mark Lane, is currently scheduled for the week of August 18.
- Grading crews continue their work on the south end of the project, between Oberlin Way and Jomax Road to prepare for concrete work and installation of storm drain pipe.
- With the high daytime temperatures and remote location from the concrete materials supplier, concrete pours are taking place in the early morning hours, weekdays, throughout the summer months to provide the best quality end product.
- Please remember that Scottsdale Road is an active construction area and refrain from pedestrian or cycling activity in the work zone. The concrete barrier and traffic control devices are placed for your safety and the safety of construction crews.
During construction, lane reductions and turn restrictions may be in place, as needed, to shift traffic away from the work zone. Please obey traffic signage as it is placed for the safety of residents, travelers and construction crews. Traffic control remains in place 24/7 to protect the work zone, and speed limits are reduced near the work zone. Work primarily takes place during daytime hours, weekdays; however, it may be necessary, at times, to conduct work during night hours or weekend days.
