Monday, September 1, crews will shift Scottsdale Road traffic to the west side of Scottsdale Road
| Construction continues for improvements to Scottsdale Road from Jomax Road to Dixileta Drive. Planned improvements will convert this section of Scottsdale Road to a complete street to include landscaped medians, bike lanes, sidewalks and trails to improve safety, capacity and accessibility for motor vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians. The project includes installation of a signalized crossing at Pinnacle Vista Drive, and drainage improvements. Scottsdale Road traffic is currently shifted to the east side of Scottsdale Road, one lane in each direction, with left turns restricted from just north of Mark Lane to just south of Dixileta Drive, and also from Jomax Road to Oberlin Way. There is currently no access to Dale Lane, Peak View Road, Morning Vista Lane, Redbird, and Pinnacle Vista on the west side of Scottsdale Road with concrete barrier in place in the interest of safety as asphalt has been removed from the west side of Scottsdale Road in these areas for storm drain installation and road reconstruction. Crews continue work on the west side of Scottsdale Road, behind the concrete barrier, to complete improvements on the west side of Scottsdale Road. Current work on improvements on the west side of Scottsdale Road, north of Mark Lane is nearing completion and temporary striping is being applied in advance of a traffic shift to the west side of Scottsdale Road, north of Mark Lane following the Labor Day holiday. Scheduled to take place by end of day Friday, August 22, Dixileta Drive will be reopened on the west side of Scottsdale Road. Scheduled to take place during night hours on Monday, September 1, crews will shift Scottsdale Road traffic to the west side of Scottsdale Road onto the new asphalt surface, still one lane in each direction, with left turns restricted from just north of Mark Lane to just south of Dixileta Drive. There will be no access to Dale Lane or Via Dona Road on the east side of Scottsdale Road; however, access will be maintained for Desert Foothills Lutheran Church and SonRise Bible Church. Concrete barriers are scheduled to be removed from this section of the project on Tuesday, September 2. Following the shift in traffic, crews will begin improvements on the east side of Scottsdale Road in this area. Grading crews continue work on the west side of Scottsdale Road, from Jomax Road to Oberlin Way, to build the subsurface of the future roadway, and also install concrete sidewalk, curb, gutter and ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) ramps. With the high daytime temperatures and remote location from the concrete materials supplier, concrete pours are taking place in the early morning hours, weekdays, throughout the summer months to provide the best quality end product. Please remember that Scottsdale Road is an active construction area and refrain from pedestrian or cycling activity in the work zone. The concrete barrier and traffic control devices are placed for your safety and the safety of construction crews. During construction, lane reductions and turn restrictions may be in place, as needed, to shift traffic away from the work zone. Please obey traffic signage as it is placed for the safety of residents, travelers and construction crews. Traffic control remains in place 24/7 to protect the work zone, and speed limits are reduced near the work zone. Work primarily takes place during daytime hours, weekdays; however, it may be necessary, at times, to conduct work during night hours or weekend days.
