Scottsdale Road Improvements – Jomax Road to Dixileta Drive Construction continues for improvements to Scottsdale Road from Jomax Road to Dixileta Drive. Planned improvements will convert this section of Scottsdale Road to a complete street to include landscaped medians, bike lanes, sidewalks and trails to improve safety, capacity and accessibility for motor vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians. The project includes installation of a signalized crossing at Pinnacle Vista Drive, and drainage improvements. Scottsdale Road, North of Dynamite Road: Scottsdale Road traffic is currently shifted to the west side of Scottsdale Road, one lane in each direction with left turns restricted, from just north of Mark Lane to Dixileta Drive. There is no access to Dale Lane or Via Dona Road on the east side of Scottsdale Road; however, access is maintained for Desert Foothills Lutheran Church and SonRise Bible Church.Crews continue work on channel excavation for the drainage swale on the east side of the road. Scheduled to begin the week of Nov. 17, electric crews will install ITS conduit, and grading crews will begin grading for concrete curb, gutter which is currently scheduled to begin installation the week of Nov. 24. Scheduled for early December, grading crews will begin grading activities for the concrete path on the east side of Scottsdale Road, with concrete installation taking place following that effort. Scottsdale Road, South of Dynamite Road: Scottsdale Road traffic is currently shifted to the west side of Scottsdale Road, one lane in each direction with left turns restricted, from Jomax Road to Oberlin Way, with no access to Redbird Road, Bent Tree Drive, or Oberlin Way on the east side of Scottsdale Road. Crews are currently working to remove asphalt roadway and subsurface, as well as areas within the project limits to prepare for work on the east side of Scottsdale Road.In addition, crews are working to install storm drain pipe and infrastructure along the east side of Scottsdale Road. Please remember that Scottsdale Road is an active construction area and refrain from pedestrian or cycling activity in the work zone. And, although traffic is now on newly paved asphalt, the speed limit remains at 30 mph through the construction zone. Traffic control is in place for your safety and the safety of construction crews. Please use an alternate route if one is available in order to help minimize traffic back-ups on Scottsdale Road. Based on temperatures and the remote location from the concrete materials supplier, concrete pours may take place in the early morning hours, weekdays, as needed, to provide the best quality end product. Work primarily takes place during daytime hours, weekdays; however, it may be necessary, at times, to conduct work during night hours or weekend days.
